GD and MyBB

apps

#1

Around Feb 25 I noticed none of my existing thumbnails and attached images were working on my MyBB forum. The PHP info in MyBB says that GD is enabled. I’ve tried numerous image attachments. They appear to load, but are not displayed. Asking for help on MyBB board hasn’t resolved this either. One of the Admin concluded that

“the contents of the image it’s not even producing a valid header for the image- there is no standard JPG header in the file”

Also lost, is GZIP compression. Are these to problems related the Dreamhost recent PHP upgrade.

Please help,

Jeremy

The latest version of MyBB 1.2.3, out recently. I seem to be running OK. Check http://techbroadcasting.com/forums and let me know what you think.

I’ve just upgraded today and still have the problem.

Do you have modifications added? Maybe one of them doesn’t work with the latest PHP 5.2.1. If that’s the case, go to your DreamHost Control Panel and change your PHP version to the 4.x variety and see if that fixes anything.

Also feel free to try my message board and see if anything there doesn’t work. I just migrated the board at http://techbroadcasting.com/forums to MyBB with a beta SMF converter, and it seems it came through in decent fashion, and all the stuff is intact (though I had to do a little trickery because of conversion artifacts).

I know for a fact that MyBB works with PHP 5.2.1 because I did a complete install on a different database, checked if the attach function worked yesterday and it did.
