Gallery multisite multi-site

Has anyone had any success installing a Gallery2 multisite?
I realize the howto email says choose Standalone and be done with it, but I thought I’d give it a try anyway.
Initially, I setup my g2data dir as /home/USER/media/g2data_david
When things didn’t work out, I tried /home/USER/g2data_david

I didn’t see anything special about the g2data folder that dreamhost creates for you. Both of my data directories had chmod 777.
Here is my gallery http://photos.davidbianco.net/gallery

Currently, it is trying to upgrade for some reason…

Okay, I’m getting closer. It seems it doesn’t like my directory mappings. I have
public_html/davidbianco.net/pixelpost <— which is what http://photos.davidbianco.net points to
public_html/davidbianco.net/gallery2 <— which is what http://photos.davidbianco.net/gallery points to

So then, the installation works (even though I did standalone this time)
http://www.davidbianco.net/gallery2

But, my remap confuses the hell out of it
http://photos.davidbianco.net/gallery

even though they are both pointing to the exact same place. I’m sure there are plenty of workarounds for this… I’ll have another go at it in the morning. sleepy n o w …

ln -s …/gallery2 gallery
inside of the pixelpost was the quick fix (and removing the remap sub-dir in the control panel)

all better…
