I had a DreamhostPS with 300MB memory for one year,

Last two weeks,
I am trying to move my site to dreamhost, But I failed.

my site’s backup file backup.tar size is 10GB.

When I wget the backup file backup.tar on dreamhostps from my another VPS,
The dreamhostPS’s memory exceed 300MB,
And my dreamhostPS was force rebooted.
So i cannot wget my backup file.

Then I Increase the memory to 500MB, 1000MB, 1500MB,
The memory also exceed 1500MB,
And my dreamhostPS was force rebooted.

I contacted the DreamHost Customer Support Team Many times,
They suggest me upload via FTP client or Split the backup file to small size.

I also trying to upload it via ftp or split it to 900MB,
But i also failed,
The dreamhostPS’s memory exceed,
And my dreamhostPS was force rebooted.

So far, I still can not transfer my site to Dreamhostps.

Why dreamhostps can not wget my backup file or upload via ftp?

Another question,Why the other hosting provider’s VPS which has only 256MB memory can wget this backup files,
But DreamhostPS can not?

I just feedback about your product.

IS Your dreamhost VPS products defective.

I think Dreamhost need to think about it.
I think this will have a impact on your products.

I have resolved this issue.
I try to limit the wget speed to 1000K/s,

wget --limit-rate=1000k http://XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX/backup.tar

Probably because the old plan is not a SSD hard drive.
I have try to wget this file on the new SSD dreamhostPS, I can wget the backup file successfully.
