Flash Remoting, Rails, WebOrb and mysql

software development

Hi there,

I am attempting to use WebOrb (http://www.themidnightcoders.com/weborb/) for flash remoting between my flash interface, ruby on rails and my mysql database. Has anyone done any development like this on Dreamhost? I have the application running (all parties talking to each other - flash, rails, mysql) locally, but can’t seem to get it up and running on Dreamhost. I don’t think there are any server-side components in the Flash Remoting Components (http://www.adobe.com/products/flashremoting/downloads/components/), but I’m not sure. At any rate, the swf shows up (http://mood.sourcetone.com/interface.html), but no data is transferred into or out of it from/to my database.

I’d really appreciate any words of wisdom about this kind of problem…

I have amfphp remoting working fine on dreamhost.
I’d monitor the swf/server side interaction using charles web debugging proxy to get an indication of data throughput.

It looks like your sending your data request from the swf to the root directory, which in turn gets a 301? The redirected response gives ‘Action Controller: Exception caught’. Dunno about weborb so couldn’t add anything else really.
