Finding people using the same shared server

#1

I heard about using Reverse IP Lookup to find people on the same shared server and found these 2 links on google:

http://www.seologs.com/ip-domains.html
http://www.domaintools.com/reverse-ip/

Does anybody know an easier way to get in contact with fellow hostees?

BTW I’m in planters.dreamhost.com

Probably posting here is your best way to be in contact with other people who may be on the same server as you. but why does it matter?

:expressionless: Does anybody know an easier way to get in contact with fellow hostees?

  • Explore user homes for domain. Browse domain for contact way.

  • Trade contact way on server unofficial outages page:

:expressionless: why does it matter?

If you rent in apartment, not you know neighbors? Similar?

Don’t waste your time with that. Nobody goes there and I doubt anyone will.

Yeah…I’d have to agree. Could start a topic here and request a discussion with others on your server. /shrug not sure why you would want to?

I have to wonder the intentions behind this, personally I’d be happy if nobody on my server contacted me, I get enough spam these days without other users on my server sending unsolicited email.

Hi Tez,

No, I don’t seem to be having that problem.

And to whole reason to try to get in touch with people on my server is to exchange impressions over the server speed and reliability.

I don’t have much experience on that - I have only used a small shared host company before that- but it seems to me that I have to accept a less that satisfactory speed/reliability in exchange for such a low prices.

I’m starting my first php site, using joomla, and it seems to have a less than acceptable speed.

But I would like to check that with some other more experienced people on the same server.

Another solution would be to purchase one more account and then use it to benchmark my speeds against.

Any other suggestions?

my speeds seem fine, I have a pretty large forum with 3-10 visitors constantly.

the only trouble i notice recently is hitting memory limits, from probably bad products like zencart (zencart is terrible).
