Files uploaded but not running - help!

#1

Hi,

I uploaded a homepage I created in Dreamweaver. If you go to
http://www.coyoteradio.org
you’ll see the files sitting there, rather than a webpage.

I can’t figure out how to make this work via the Dreamhost Control Panel.

Can anyone give me a clue with this. The learning curve is making me crazy.

Thanks for any help,

Andrew

If you want your page to automatically appear when someone browses to http://www.coyoteradio.org, you need to name your main html page index.html

At the moment, your page is called CRTStart.html, rename this to index.html in DreamWeaver, upload the site again and it should work as expected.

You are more than welcome, I am always glad to help where I can. :slight_smile:

‘index.html’ is only one of many different default index names that Apache will look for. For a full list see the wiki article below;

One thing I did notice about your site files; you are using a mixture of upper and lower case characters in your filenames, be careful with this, as Linux (as used on the DreamHost webservers) is case sensitive, so a file called ‘SomeFile.html’ is considered to be a different file to ‘somefile.html’
