File doesnt exist?

I’m totally new to this stuff, so please let me know if I need to provide more info.

I did a one-click install of Wordpress and it downloaded fine to a domain of my choosing. I then proceeded to muck with the files and directories, specifically changing the permissions so I could edit the wordpress css files I installed. Now for some reason when I try to access the “blog” directory it gives me the following message:
The directory /xxxxxxx.com/blog does not exist or could not be selected, so the directory / is shown instead.
The permissions I gave the directory are 775. If I try to chmod the directory again I get this message:
“The directory /xxxxxxx.com/blog could not be selected - you may not have sufficient rights to view this directory, or it may not exist.”

Anyone have any idea what happened?? I’m lost! Thanks!

Set it to 755. If you’re having problems with your FTP program, try WebFTP via the panel under Domains -> Manage Domains.

You shouldn’t need to change permissions to edit the css file.
