As posted on www.dreamhoststatus.com, the smtp servers are being given or have been given new secure certificates.
Since that upgrade, my fetchmail setup doesn’t work anymore. In the wiki I found that I have to do
openssl s_client -connect homie.mail.dreamhost.com:995 -showcerts
to get the new certificate, translate that to a fingerprint and then fetchmail will use ssl again.
Howver, openssl doesn’t get a certificate:
$openssl s_client -connect homie.mail.dreamhost.com:995 -showcerts
no peer certificate available
No client certificate CA names sent
SSL handshake has read 0 bytes and written 320 bytes
New, (NONE), Cipher is (NONE)
Secure Renegotiation IS NOT supported
Using port 465 (found on another page in the wiki) has the same results. If I can believe various posts on the internet, this means the dreamhost mail server isn’t quite configured correctly. Any hints on how to get fetchmail working with ssl again would be appreciated.
