FancyIndexing

#1

Has it been disabled on DreamHost? I’d like to show filetype-specific icons in a directory index to make browsing easier.

The command “IndexOptions +FancyIndexing” doesn’t seem to do anything…

I don’t think it’s been disabled, in fact I think it is enabled by default and provides the neater listing, clickable column headings, auto sorting etc. Try IndexOptions -FancyIndexing to see what things look like with it disabled.

However, I don’t think any icons are defined by default. You will need to provide your own icons using the AddIcon or AddIconByType directives.

Ah!

I didn’t know you could define those icons yourself. I also didn’t realize “fancy” indexing actually meant the sortable table view, not the icons - because the former I have by default, yes.

Thanks, I’ll try adding the icon definitions.

No problem, I am always glad to help where I can.

You might find the following links useful when trying to work out the icon details.
