Error establishing a database connection




I lapsed on payment and my sites were suspended. When they were reestablished, one doesn’t seem to recognise the database. I’ve restored both the site files and the database to before the suspension but no luck, I’ve looked at the wp-config file but don’t know what I have to edit in there.

Any help much appreciated.


These lines in config.php:

Make sure the values here match your actual database name, user, password, and host.

If you are getting an error message, you should quote it here.


My database seems to have disappeared.
There is nothing in the MySQL Recycle Bin.


if you don’t have a backup offsite that you can restore you need to open a ticket with support and find out of there is anything they can do to help. Not likely tho, dreamhost is pretty clear upfront about when your data is deleted in the case of non-payment AND they also warn to maintain your own off site backups.
