Error establishing a database connection

#1

After setting up a domain with DreamHost and downloading the necessary additions such as WordPress and FireFTP, I am still having trouble loading my site. Once everything has been configured and moved from my system to FireFTP, I get an error message when I try to type in the address stating “Error establishing a database connection.” Is this error linked to something on DreamHost or within my configuration?

Thanks!

Looks like you didn’t set up your MySQL database. However, you don’t need to install wordpress by hand, the panel can do it all for you! Just remove the files you uploaded first, and then use an “advanced” install.

Using live chat, I was able to get the help I needed. My SQL Database was just directed to the wrong name in my WordPress configuration. Thank you, though, for your help!
