We’ve been having seriously flaky e-mail performance since well into last week. Symptoms have varied – sometimes able to send, but not receive, sometimes vice versa.
Yesterday, we started to receive bounce notices like this:
Reporting-MTA: dns; plunder2.dreamhost.com
X-Postfix-Sender: rfc822; firstname.lastname@example.org
Arrival-Date: Wed, 26 Oct 2005 16:58:45 -0700 (PDT)
Final-Recipient: rfc822; email@example.com
Original-Recipient: rfc822; firstname.lastname@example.org
Diagnostic-Code: X-Postfix; Command died with status 1: “/dh/bin/autorespond.pl
Can anyone parse that for me? Is this somehow related to our autoresponders?
And then just now, started getting “server not responding” errors. It’s not a DNS problem or anything. We can hit the server fine. It’s just that the connection is immediately dropped at that end. Voila:
user% telnet mail.domain.com 110
Connected to mail.domain.com.
Escape character is ‘^]’.
Connection closed by foreign host.
Is anyone else noticing the same kinds of things, or is it just us?
