Dreamhoster subdomain mirroring woes

#1

Hello,

We’re in the process of setting up new hosting and we’re trying to use a dreamhoster.com subdomain in order to enable foreign DNS using a CNAME.

I have setup “myname.dreamhosters.com” and I also created the mirror for our real domain. I noticed that the Shared server IP address is different than the IP for the dreamhosters.com subdomain. I have uploaded a test index.html to the correct directory on the shared server but it doesn’t appear to be working properly.

When I browse in Firefox, I get a Page Load Error:

Connection Interrupted

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection. Please try again.

When I browse the site with Elinks from a Linux machine, I see a directory listing which doesn’t match what I see on the shared server.

When I try to telnet to port 80, I get no connection. It doesn’t appear to setup the TCP session properly.

Does anyone have any idea what could be going on? I figured I would try in here before bugging support.

Thanks

Doh. I figured out I had a local hosts entry that had the wrong IP.

It’s working now.
