Dreamhost Annouoncements - This is broken

#1

This has happened a ouple of times before, and I thought it was just an aberration, but now I’m not so sure. Check the dates in this email received this morning from Dreamhost:

--------------Begin text of DH Email ------------------------
At approximately 5PM PST, 2005-07-16 we will be doing minor maintenance on
the webmail sessions database. This will cause anyone who is logged in to
webmail to be logged out. If you experience an unexpected logout from
webmail please wait a few minutes before trying to login again. If you
are composing a very long email during this time, please take measures to
ensure that you have a copy of the message text before sending it.

Thank you,
– DreamHost Webmail Team

he he he…now that was a useful message! It gave me a chance to test my time machine by warping time and space and going almost 2.5 days back in time so I could “take measures” not to lose my email edits. Dreamhost still rocks but this is funny; I’m not sure how funny it would be if was a more critical type of announcement, and I missed it by 2.5 days

anybody else seeing this, or is it just me?

Whoops sorry!

The actual problem was that the announcement should have said “2005-07-18” not 16!

But I do think there’s still possibly a bug where our announcements take a loooong time to get emailed out.

josh!

There definitely is a problem where the announcements take a look time to get mailed out. I’ve received most of the downtime/maintenance annoucements after the event has taken place.

I’ve just received (2005-07-23) the Webmail maintenance on 2005-07-18 email. The headers show it didn’t actually leave Dreamhost until today:
