Dreamhost and vBulletin

Hello, I’m new to DreamHost and having some problems setting up vBulletin through it. Here is the config.php part of vBulletin (currently unedited):

// ****** DATABASE NAME ******
// This is the name of the database where your vBulletin will be located.
// This must be created by your webhost.
$config[‘Database’][‘dbname’] = ‘forum’;

// This is the hostname or IP address and port of the database server.
// If you are unsure of what to put here, leave the default values.
$config[‘MasterServer’][‘servername’] = ‘localhost’;
$config[‘MasterServer’][‘port’] = 3306;

// This is the username and password you use to access MySQL.
// These must be obtained through your webhost.
$config[‘MasterServer’][‘username’] = ‘root’;
$config[‘MasterServer’][‘password’] = ‘’;

Here is how I tried to set it up:

$config[‘Database’][‘dbname’] = ‘datebase’; (I ended up deleting all my other databases and creating this one with the name of “database”)

$config[‘MasterServer’][‘servername’] = ‘sql.bunchofanime.com’;
$config[‘MasterServer’][‘port’] = 3306;

$config[‘MasterServer’][‘username’] = ‘decoymer’;
$config[‘MasterServer’][‘password’] = ‘*************’;

Once I’ve done that and uploaded the the “upload” folder as instructed to my server. (not sure if it matters where I put it) Then I typed: www.bunchofanime.com/forums/install/install.php which comes up as 404 not found. Am I doing something wrong here? Missing a step?

WordPress is/was probably rewriting your path via it’s htaccess, restricting the ability to browse through to the /forums/install/ directory.

How To Install PHP.INI / ionCube on DreamHost

Here’s a wiki article on freeing up the /stats directory from WordPress. This should work as well for freeing up the /forums directory.
