Domain redirecting

#1

I currently had a domain hear that I was hosting here, but I found a way to get it hosted for free. I own the domain wkuf.org. Is there a way to update it to simply redirect to www.kettering.edu/wkuf

That’s actually http://www.kettering.edu/wkuf/; don’t forget the trailing slash (without it there is an unnecessary server-side redirection from the slashless address to the correct one).

Within a Dreamhost hosting account, you can set up a domain as type “redirect” to send the user to a remote address. That could be used in your case. However, this would probably stop working if you cancelled your Dreamhost account (as I presume you want to do since the purpose is to use free hosting instead of paying for it), so you might need to find some other service that does free redirections of domains (but might do annoying stuff like put ads on a redirect page or stick the destination site in a frame).
