I am looking for a way through PHP or any other way possible to extract EXIF data from a JPEG image.
How can I find out if dreamhost configured php with –enable-exif?
–enable-exit does not seem to have been used, unfortunately.
I’ve found the PHP Exif Library, but it requires PHP 5.
If you find an Exif solution that works easily on Dreamhost, let us know! I know the http://gallery.menalto.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=index gallery solution extract Exif data using a program called jhead, but I haven’t yet worked out how to do that myself.
Yes, I have been having a problem getting jhead to work with Gallery using ImageMagik. When uploading the image I get…
gallery /home/kgant/bin/jhead/convert: Not a directory
I have also tried chmod +x jhead
Ok… I’ve finally have Gallery 1.4.4 working. As they say, third time’s the charm.
I followed the instructions at wombatnation (http://www.wombatnation.com/misc/installGalleryDreamHost.html). There is one thing I did different this last time. I did not add AddType php.cgi .php to .htaccss like it says to do.
And I’m reading his instructions a little more closely now… Under the Final Notes section he says that after he upgraded to Gallery 1.4 that he no longer had to do the tweaks.
