Disabling PHP with nginx

vps

#1

I’m working on getting a VPS setup, and I want to use nginx as my http server, I’m planning on only deploying using python however, so I’d like to shut down PHP completely (since it just sits = there eating memory).

I tried editing /dh/nginx/servers/httpd-/environ and setting PHP_FCGI_CHILDREN=0 but I still have one PHP process laying around. Running /etc/init.d/nginx stopphp works, but I’d like it be the default.

Anyone done this? I don’t know why PHP is so tightly coupled with nginx on the VPS.
