Directory question - very new to Dreamhoast

#1

Hi,

I just created a password protected directory and it is actually the first time I create a directory so I am a little overwhelmed. I am VERY new to all of this.

My question is… I have the following directory now:
www.chuaochocolatier.com/retailerslogin/

I am going to be adding files there that will be what my customers will have access to after entering the password. For example:
www.chuaochocolatier.com/retailerslogin/wholesale.html

If by mistake anyone tried to open just the directory link:
www.chuaochocolatier.com/retailerslogin/
it will open a page and show a list of the pages in the directory: my menu array, images, everything. But I don’t want anyone to have access to my files or view my codes.

Can I change the appearance of that directory page? or if they clicked on that link, can I redirect them to my homepage instead??

How do I do this if it’s possible.

I’d appreciate the help!

Thanks,

Romina

Just put a blank index.html file in there.

If the directory is password protected they should see anything at all.

There’s some information in the Wiki that may help guide you:

Thank you for your answer.
How do I do that? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Like I said, I’'m really new at all of this and need instructions if possible or at list a guide.

Thank you, I used those instructions to set the password protection.

My question is that when i provide my customers the password to see these pages, they can see all that info. I already tested it.

I just want to disable the directory page somehow in case they try to see it.

Rename your wholesale.html file -> index.html
