Custom php.cgi works on one domain, but not subdom

I’ve built my own php.cgi, which works well in one domain. I’m trying to use it in my subdomain too. I’ve copied the cgi to the subdomain, annd used .htaccess to point execution to that bin, following the same steps I did with my main domain. I end up with “Internal Server Error” though. A look at my log reveals " Premature end of script headers: …php.cgi", which isn’t that informative.

Any ideas?

The most common error is to forget to make the .cgi file an executable.

Why not just remap the original folder and use the one (working) php.cgi for domain and subdomain?
