CSS Not Rendering

Hi everyone,

I’m having a problem on my site http://www.hombremfg.com/ where no CSS is rendering.

As you can see, the page itself is just unformatted text. The admin panel is the same way. I tried a new WP install at http://hombremfg.com/wordpress/ and am getting the same thing.

Also, if you go to a plain HTML site like http://hombremfg.com/index_splash.html it’s just showing the code for the file.

I can usually figure problems like this out but have no idea what’s going on this time. Any suggestions?

It appears you most likely have something in your .htaccess file that is causing .css and .html files to be served as text/plain

That means your web site is configured to tell web browsers that those files are not CSS or HTML but just text.

Here’s the entire text of my .htaccess file:

BEGIN WordPress

RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule . /index.php [L]

END WordPress

It looks as though there’s something seriously funky going on here. (It’s not just you — I spotted a few other domains on your server that are experiencing some similar effects.) I’ve raised the issue with our system administrators, and they’ll be having a look shortly.

I’m guessing something got fixed because the site is back to normal without me changing anything.
