Creating a webdav enabled directory, but cannot

#1

add it in windows XP. I follow the instructions that I found on wiki.dreamhost.com

I made a folder called “uni”. so the directory is mydomain.com/uni

Now when I go to My network places, add a network place, and I type http://www.mydomain.com/uni , it asks me for user name and password. I entered the one that I entered when I created the directory under Goodies > webdav, but it rejects it, asking me for username and pw again and again.

any ideas?

thanks.

Anyone?

you could try

http://mydomain:80/uni

as recommended in:

http://wiki.dreamhost.com/index.php/KB_/Account_Control_Panel/Goodies::Htaccess/WebDAV/_WebDAV

That gets me into the directory but then I can’t do anything with it (create folders or files).

Yeah, this sounds like the XP SP2 issue - the problem is that DH only support Basic Authentication for WebDAV. Support for this was dropped in XP SP2.

This guy seems to have got it working:
