Connecting to my website keeps timing out

Not sure if this issue should be posted in this forum, but my site has been down for the past 6 hours or so:

I’ve checked to see if it was a system wide problem a few times, but it always comes back resolved telling me it’s not a system outage.

It resolves the IP fine, it even connects, but it always times out. At first I thought maybe it could be a database problem, but I tried to open an image file, and that fails. Email, FTP, SSH all work fine. I can connect to my control panel w/o any problems either. It’s just that trying to open any of my websites is timing out.

I was wondering if anyone has any idea what is going on…

I’m having the same problem

It first started on 3/29 PM. I noticed my pages with PHP were timing out. Then I later noticed only some images would load, now no images, now nothing loads. Not cool.

Now when I SSH in, all of my files are gone…

Works for me.

Also works for me.

It just started working about 15minutes ago. From InternetSeer:

Both the sites are working fine for me too.

Mine is still down. It has been for a few hours now and I’ve heard no response from support. comes up fine, and fast, for me.

It’s back now. Seems someone was spiking the server with too many resources.

And it’s down again! This is getting very frustrating.

It seems to be working for me … it was a little slow, but there.

My site is getting the following error:

Connection Problems
Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later.

So I know it is a MySQL error but I don’t see anything posted on so I’m not sure if it’s just my site or my server. I can connect to anything not in a MySQL Database. I wish I was more intelligent with this stuff… pout

The best you can hope for is to keep sharing the information you learn with support to help them identify where the bottlenecks are.

They really are happier when your site runs well because you don’t have to bother them with complaints.
