Configuring a domain

When I try to plug in my organization’s website domain (which we own), DreamHost tells me: “This domain is already reserved in our system. Is it possible that you already have an account with us?”

To our knowledge, we do not have a domain reserved in DreamHost.


That error message means that the domain was hosted sometime previously on dreamhost, and it exists on another customer account. This doesn’t mean its a current situation, just that sometime prior someone entered that domain name on another account.

Contact support, they can delete it from the other account so that you can add it to yours.
