Cloudflare compatible with PHPBB

Is cloudflare compatible with PHPBB?

My site is OK except for the forum which says:

“This website is offline
No cached version is available
What’s wrong?
The most likely causes:
The server is down for maintenance
There may be a network problem
The site may be experiencing excessive load
Retry for a live version of the site
What’s CloudFlare?
This website uses CloudFlare in order to help keep it online when the server is down by serving cached copies of pages when they are unavailable. Unfortunately, a cached copy of the page you requested is not available, but you may be able to reach other cached pages on the site.”

When I click on “Retry for a live version of the site” this error appears in my error.log file:

[Wed Feb 20 06:02:28 2013] [error] [client 208.113.157.71] ModSecurity: Error reading request body: End of file found [hostname “www.bandsman.co.uk”] [uri “/forum/ucp.php”] [unique_id “USTXVkBvflAAAEaR134AAAAG”]

I have added a Cloudflare page rule to bypass cache on bandsman.co.uk/forum/, however that has made no difference.

OK now the situation has become worse, my other domain giving this warning from cloudflare: This page (http://www.concert-bands.co.uk/) is currently offline. However, because the site uses CloudFlare’s Always Online™ technology you can continue to surf a snapshot of the site. We will keep checking in the background and, as soon as the site comes back, you will automatically be served the live version. Always Online™ is powered by CloudFlare | Hide this Alert"

Any update? http://status.dreamhost.com/ gives no clue.

Both my sites are now down with Cloudflare based errors. I’m going to now assume that my point about PHPBB was a red herring. I’m going to disable cloudflare on one site to help to debug if it’s an issue with cloudflare or with dreamhost.

We’re able to reach the forum at http://www.bandsman.co.uk/forum/ without any trouble. Let me know what you find out though, and what happens after you disable CloudFlare. If disabling doesn’t work, we can bring this to our support team to see if we can dig up what’s causing the error for you.

Looks like it’s now working. What caused the hiccup?

Spoke too soon. It’s down again, same cloudflare message. Looks transient to me - trying once and getting in doesn’t mean that it’s fixed :frowning:

I’ve disabled Cloudflare everywhere to get that out of the equation. Now (unsurprisingly) I’m battling again against worth’s poor performance, as I get timeouts from time-to-time.

Alrighty, my support lead just emailed you! Hope that helps! If you have any follow-up questions for him, please don’t hesitate to reply. If your issues continue, let us know and we’ll keep investigating. Thanks for your patience!

Fail again this afternoon:

“This page (http://www.concert-bands.co.uk/) is currently offline. However, because the site uses CloudFlare’s Always Online™ technology you can continue to surf a snapshot of the site. We will keep checking in the background and, as soon as the site comes back, you will automatically be served the live version. Always Online™ is powered by CloudFlare | Hide this Alert”

Both of those messages would only appear if your server was having issues or something was blocking requests from our IPs (security plugins, etc.). CloudFlare support can also take a look in our logs, if you contact us.
