I am attempting to reset the permissions on a directory for one of my domains. There used to be a way with my FTP client to do it, but that procedure does not work. The permissions reset themselves from 755 to 644 automatically after I close the client. I looked for something in the control panel, but found nothing. Is there some trick with these Linux servers that I should know about?
There isn't a special trick.
It sounds like your ftp client isn't applying the changes. Maybe you want to try a different client.
Or you could login through the shell and use chmod.
