CGI problem

#1

I’m having problems with a CGI formmail script. It’s one I prefer to use because it hides the recipient’s email address from spam bots. I’ve never had a problem with it before. This is the first time I’ve tried to use it on DH.

As you can see, nothing happens when you hit the submit button. It’s not even trying to load the script.

Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

I pressed submit (with nothing in the fields) and it said I’ve submitted my info.

Is the problem that you aren’t getting email? From what I gather from what you’ve said, it just sounds like you can’t even submit the form.

That’s strange. Yes, in my browser, nothing happens when I click the submit button.

What browser are you using?

Internet Explorer. It seems to be an IE problem, but it’s also a DH problem, because I’ve used this script on a dozen other websites not hosted here.

Nope, its a problem with your HTML actually:

http:///www.fakephotos.net/cgi-bin/fpdnet.cgi

That is it how it appears in your HTML, and you have one too many slashes after the scheme.

If you had bothered just copying that into IE address bar, you would have gotten this:
The page cannot be displayed
The page you are looking for might have been removed or had its name changed.

Please try the following:

Open the home page, and then look for links to the information you want.

If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is spelled correctly.
Which is why “nothing happens” when you try to submit the form. But look at the window title! It says “Invalid syntax error” … go figure =)

Apparently Firefox is able to correct this type of syntax error though.
