CGI cant connect to external site on port 80

folks, im testing a 3rd party cgi that needs to connect to an external site on the port 80. The developers tell me it´s dreamhost´s firewall that´s blocking the connection… do you know of a way to suspend this temporarily so i can connect to that site? it is a validation procedure that needs to run once. Thanks to you all

Port 80 is the standard HTTP port; I have no idea why Dreamhost’s firewall would be blocking it.

I successfully make outbound connections on port 80 on a regular basis. (From a PHP script.) It’s most likely something else.
