Cgi bin

#1

what permissions does the cgi_bin folder need to be?

#2

Use 750 and it’s cgi-bin. It’s also just a folder, nothing special as far as the server configs are concerned.

#3

750? If I do that I just get 403 error. I thought it was 755…

I got it working. I had it already set up for owner read, write, execute. my problem was an extra T in the cgi file itself.

thanks

Oh, guess you do need 755. Must be a CGI Wrapper installed. Part of the CGI Wrapper is to check permissions.

750 is more secure since the web server instances run under your user handle. But I think the CGI Wrapper just verifies 755. /shrug
