Can't create subdomain

#1

Hey all,

I just add a Wordpress blog under a folder /blog/ under my domain name hosted on DreamHost. But I had tried to set up a sub-domain name to no avail. The sub-domain I tried to set up is like: blog.mydomain.com

The system just kept on telling me: “You can’t add that domain: already in our DNS system.”

In fact, if I type in the sub-domain name in the URL address field of the browser, it brings up phpMyAdmin page, where I can see database, SQL, status… all sorts of things.

Can anyone help me with it?

Did you create the MySQL hostname before? Check DH panel --> Goodies --> Manage MySQL.

If the subdomain is already used as MySQL hostname, you can’t create the subdomain any more. If you did not create the hostname before, I guess somebody else did it. I’ll suggest you to submit a ticket to DH support and they will sort it out for you.

Thank you Patrick. I found I created a MySQL name as the name want to use for the subdomain. It’s all sorted out after I delete the MySQL name. Thanks!
