Bundler and Rails 3

#1

Hi All,

I’m having issues with deploying my rails 3 app to a dreamhost shared account and i think this i caused by bundler not being properly installed on my account.

I installed version 0.9.9 as described in the wiki page. The gem is installed but when I type bundle install I get a message that bundle is not known. I assume that Bundler is installed but the installed dir is not in the system path.

How can I add Bundler to this path?

Thanks

You may need to add your gem executable path to your local PATH. First, run the command: gem env

You’ll see the path to your local gem executable directory under EXECUTABLE DIRECTORY:

RubyGems Environment:
  - RUBYGEMS VERSION: 1.3.6
  - RUBY VERSION: 1.8.7 (2008-08-11 patchlevel 72) [x86_64-linux]
  - INSTALLATION DIRECTORY: /home/[USERNAME]/.gems/
  - RUBY EXECUTABLE: /usr/bin/ruby1.8
  - EXECUTABLE DIRECTORY: /home/[USERNAME]/.gems/bin
  - RUBYGEMS PLATFORMS:

All you have to do now is add this path to ~/.bash_profile:

Then reload this with the command:

source ~/.bash_profile

Then try it again. Hope this helps.
