Blogs, mySQL and Conueries

I currently have a blog running on b2. B2 is no longer supported and the forks are still really in early delelopment so I am looking into changing.

I was going to install Nucleus, but in the documentation it does not seem to be that light on database use

“Contradictory to some other weblog/online journal scripts, Nucleus does not generate a static version of all items. This means that every time a page is requested, the PHP parser is called and the database is accessed to dynamically create the requested page”

Now I would rather a PHP blog, but I am concerned about my conueries use.

Can anyone recommed a bloging system that does not hit the database all the time? Is Movable Type an option?
