[Beta] Page Speed Optimization Feature - Errors with JS class due to compression

#1

Dear DH and Account Holders,

I want to let you know a particular error that occurs when utilizing the Beta feature Page Speed Optimization. I’m not sure if it is custom code that DH adds to its Apache server or if it is a direct use of the tools provided by Google Developer tools (https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/?csw=1).

For my website if I enable the feature it causes a JS class to not process properly and the styles/contents of the page are distorted when navigating the site (http://preprod.pci-solutions.com/). If I disable the Page Speed Optimization then navigating the site the page renders the menu and content just fine. (http://demo.pci-solutions.com)

My domain is using PHP 4.3 and utilizing Joomla 3.1.5 with templates provided by Joomla Shine. According to Joomla Shine it appears that the compression feature provided by the ModPagespeedEnableFilters causes the JS errors thus the UniIcon class does not function propely.

Let me know if you need further details to diagnose this issue.

Regards,
Thien

It’s probably the PHP 4.3 (really? Not 5.3) that’s doing crazy things here…

But you can tweak pagespeed with your .htaccess and customize it, telling it NOT to compress certain things.

You are correct the site is using PHP 5.3. I typed it too quick. Well considering the feature is still BETA I’m just going to disregard the error for the time being and disable it. Just wanted to contribute and report an issue but I wasn’t sure where to post it.

Thanks for the correction.
