Best practice for a backend cgi binary?

I’m working on a small personal app that uses a UNIX binary as its backend. I’ve built the binary just fine through my shell account, but I’m wondering where the best place to put it is (since I obviously can’t put it in /usr/local/bin).

My project is set up like this: /home/me/

So is it best to place it:
on and on…

I’m learning towards the first. I suppose they all work the same, but if any UNIX-heads can point me to the standard way of doing it, it’d make me sleep better at night. Thanks.
