Basic mod_rewrite problems

#1

Hi,

I’ve been trying to get a very basic mod_rewrite rule to work for changing:

http://www.andrewgioia.com/blog.php?page=viewentry&id=20

to

http://www.andrewgioia.com/blog/viewentry/20.php

My current rule I’m using is:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^blog/(.)/(.).php$ /blog.php?page=$1&id=$2

For some reason it’s just not doing anything to the url. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated it.

Thanks.

hi, I have a similar problem. I’m using in a .htassess file:

RewriteEngine On

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} /forums.html
RewriteRule (.*) /index.php [L]

… but it doesn’t works. Where is the problem?

Thanks
Ronald

Please proofread your question, it doesn’t make sense - did you get it backwards?

 Perl / MySQL / HTML+CSS

Oh, sorry I got it to work a few days ago. Sorry if I was unclear though.
