Is it normal to have the following message after a technician at DreamHost moved some of my domains from one Apache Server to another?

"Site Temporarily Unavailable
We apologize for the inconvenience. Please contact the webmaster/ tech support immediately to have them rectify this.

error id: “bad_httpd_conf” "

After he moved the domains he said,
"…you should see this get better within 2-48 hours after a
DNS propagation."

So, is this normal to see the bad_httpd_conf ?

I wouldn’t say it’s “normal”, but it can happen if there is a problem with the given apache instance.

I suggest you generate a support ticket for the condition immediately; you can always cancel the ticket if the issue resolves itself, or if you are able to “jumpstart” things using this information on bad_httpd_conf from the DH Wiki (which often produces a quick fix!).

Thanks for the info.

I always like to try here first to make sure that generating a support ticket is the last resort.

I did try the Rebuilding httpd conf via Dreamhost’s control panel, but it didn’t seem to make a difference.

Thanks rlparker I appreciate it.
