AWStats Wiki question

#1

Hi! I followed the AWStats wiki and got things started for two of my domains, but when I tried to follow the section about importing old log files, I got this error:

Missing $ on loop variable at parse_old_stats on line 1.

I checked the file several times to make sure it matches the code in the wiki, and then tried it again after editing the first line to include what seemed to be a missing ‘http’ directory after ‘’, and still got the same error.

I’m not sure I’ve got the file in the right directory (if it matters) or am typing the right command to run it, or if there’s something else I need to do. Everything I know about shell access I learned in the last few days.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have the same issue. I don’t know how to run this script. Is it perl?

I’m currently trying what’s described in the awstats faq:
http://awstats.sourceforge.net/docs/awstats_faq.html#OLDLOG

replacing the logfile parameter in the config file.

Let me know if you find a answer.

Decio.

I tried the above option and it worked! It just took more than and hour for six month of logs. But I also had dns lookup on.

I used this in the config file:

#LogFile="/home/user/awstats/tools/logresolvemerge.pl /home/user/logs/domain.com/http/access*.* |"
