i’ve setup a cronjob to update (at 2:05 am) my awstats installation but i can’t get it to work properly.
the command i’m using is:
/usr/local/bin/perl /home/username/awstats/tools/awstats_buildstaticpages.pl -config=mysite.com -update -awstatsprog=/home/username/awstats/cgi-bin/awstats.pl -dir=/home/username/mysite.com/statistics/
it’s on one line and obviously username and mysite is replaced by the actual values. the strange thing is that it doesn’t seem to read the logfiles unless i’m logged in when the cronjob is running. if i’m not logged in it runs (i know since it updates the timestamp on the report) but it shows 0 visitors. if i log in 5 minutes later and change the cronjob to run in a minute or two, it works. all of a sudden i have a bunch of visitors (not just me checking the awstats page). anyone have any hints to what might be wrong?
