Awstats and stats doesn't give the same numbers

#1

Hi, I’ve installed awstats some time ago but there is something I don’t understand.
I tried to see the difference between analog (~/stats) and awstats to see which one was better but I discovered something weird. They have completely different numbers! I thought I wasn’t read them correctly so I just watched bandwidth consumption. They show different numbers! Is it possible that I configured something the wrong way? The difference is like 90Mb for stats and 10mb for awstats.
Any idea?

I don’t know AWStats all that well, but I checked out the demo over at sourceforge, the only real difference that I can see is that AWStats reports compression and bandwidth saved for different file types. This may account for the difference. Just on PHP scripts alone it shows 80% compression on their demo install.
