Autoresponder for forms?

#1

Is it possible to set up an autoresponder to everyone who submits an online form? I was thinking of making a note near the submit button that if they dont receive a confirmation email after pressing the submit button to confirm the form was submitted successfully to contact me since the confirmation email would only be received by them if the form is successfully sent to me. Is this possible? Thanks

Are you using a supplied script, or are you writing it yourself? It is very easy to do it yourself. Here’s an example of how you might do it:
<?php

$name = $_POST[‘name’];
$email = $_POST[‘email’];
$phone = $_POST[‘phone’];
$comments = $_POST[‘comments’];
$subject = “Contact Form”;
$message = “Name: “.stripslashes($name).”\nEmail: $email\nPhone: $phone\n\nComments:\n”.stripslashes($comments);

// send mail to you
$to = “your_email_address@your_domain.com”;
mail ( “$to”, “$subject”, “$message”, “From: $email\r\n” );

// send mail to them
$to = $email;
$from = “your_email_address@your_domain.com”;
mail ( “$to”, “$subject”, “$message”, “From: $from\r\n” );

?>
Obviously you can modify $message to send whatever you want to them.

if your using outlook for your E-mail check, you could also set up an auto-responder there. Somethign like a vacation E-mail. As soon as the E-mail is acutally recieved on your computer it will sed out the reply you created. (though it might take a bit of futzing to get outlook to only do this for certin E-mails)
