Autoconf

#1

I am trying to install autoconf, I am in the directory which contains the file, then I type:

“./configure”

Then I get this error:
"-bash: ./configure: Permission denied"

Any why to fix that?

You may want to first check the file permission. Make you have write permission on the installation folder and execute permission on the installer.

OK, after I change permisions, I get this:
[sunnyd]$ make
make: Nothing to be done for all'. [sunnyd]$ make install /bin/sh ./mkinstalldirs /usr/local/bin /usr/local/info /usr/local/share/autoconf mkdir /usr/local/info mkdir: cannot create directory/usr/local/info’: Permission denied
mkdir /usr/local/share/autoconf
mkdir: cannot create directory `/usr/local/share/autoconf’: Permission denied
make: *** [installdirs] Error 1
How can I install autoconf? There is nothing in the wiki on this, please help.

 1. Is configure executable?
 2. You can’t install software as root on DreamHost

OK, I followed the instructions, and finished
I got to “make install”, finished that with no errors, so I think I finished.

Next I went to php-ffmpeg… I got an error (The reason I installed Autoconf)
[sunnyd]$ phpize

Cannot find autoconf. Please check your autoconf installation and the $PHP_AUTOCONF
environment variable is set correctly and then rerun this script.
How do I fix that variable?

Check the PHP_AUTOCONF in your php.ini
