any idea why this fails?

#!/usr/bin/perl
print “Content-Type: Text/HTML\n\n”;
print “This page has been to <a href=“http://www.uticaforum.org”>UticaForum.org.”;

Looks like maybe you forgot to escape a quote?

Change this:

print “This page has been to <a href=“http://www.uticaforum.org”>UticaForum.org.”;

…to this:

print “This page has been to <a href=“http://www.uticaforum.org”>UticaForum.org.”;

Otherwise, Perl doesn’t know where to terminate your string.

I’m not a Perl expert, but I play one on TV.

I just don’t get it…

all I have is this (2 lines)

#!/usr/local/bin/perl

print “This page has been to <a href=“http://www.uticaforum.org”>UticaForum.org.”;

and I get an internal error!!!

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

try this on for size:

you have to print that first line to let the browser know it’s dealing with a page in html. And I also changed the line to perl. Not sure if what you have works or not, but this is what I use with my installs of MT.
