Hi, I want to let apache make directories but the file permissions aren’t correct. I tried to let “apache” own it but there doesn’t seem to be an apache user existing. Any ideas?
Why on earth would you want to? Most scripting languages can make directories using your ownership. Because they are running in your server space it is assumed you wanted the script to do so.
im creating a directory based off a hash created on runtime- however PHP is not allowing the webserver to write the directory due to permissions. I’m just asking what user/group I should set it to
Check the properties of the folder which you want php to write in. I believe the file attributes should be 755. The user/group should be your own. In order to set the user/group to someone else you would have to have access to that user/group.
