Apache dispatch problem?

#1

My application works on my local install; on the DH server when running WEBrick using script/server; and when making a properly formed HTTP REQUEST from commandline to the dispatch.fcgi on the server (with the command: REQUEST_METHOD=GET HTTP_HOST=prayermatch.org REQUEST_URI=/ QUERY_STRING= ./dispatch.fcgi
).

Ergo, dispatch.fcgi works and so does my rails app.

There is some problem with accessing dispatch.fcgi from the outside. I have checked that it is configured per your FAQ and I see nothing wrong with it or with the .htaccess file. Also, since it eventually gets the 500 page, it must be fully parsing the .htaccess file (or it wouldn’t serve that).

However, trying to browse to my website still results in a 500 page. :frowning:

My .htaccess file is:

General Apache options

AddHandler fastcgi-script .fcgi
AddHandler cgi-script .cgi
Options +FollowSymLinks +ExecCGI

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{DOCUMENT_ROOT}/system/maintenance.html -f
RewriteCond %{SCRIPT_FILENAME} !maintenance.html
RewriteRule ^.*$ /system/maintenance.html [L]

RewriteRule ^$ index.html [QSA]
RewriteRule ^([^.]+)$ $1.html [QSA]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ dispatch.fcgi [QSA,L]

ErrorDocument 500 /500.html

… and all dispatch.* files are executable.

Any ideas on how to fix this?
