Anyone else getting these e-mails?

Every few hours, I keep getting this e-mail message from Dreamhost:

Subject: [Announcement] Your data has been restored!

This is an automated message to let you know that your data has been restored
for some or all of your users and your site(s) and mail should be up shortly.

Again, we’re very sorry for the delay and the downtime it has caused.

The preceding was a Downtime announcement, sent 0000-00-00 00:00:00.

You are receiving it via email because it is level 4 and

The sent time of 0000-00-00 00:00:00 leads me to believe that it’s some kind of glitch, and my sites all seem fine and all, but it’s really starting to freak me out. :\

I’m also sending them a message via the support panel, was just checking to see if I was the only one having this issue.

Yes, I’ve gotten about 7 or 8 so far. And I don’t even know if it applies to me since there was never even an announcement that my server was missing data in the first place.

I’ve received 4 already and my webmail isn’t working - is it linked? I sent in a support ticket, but haven’t heard anything - no wonder really when they’ve had about 500 open requests since yesterday.

I’ve also gotten 5 so far in the past 2 days.

I have a support ticket in for over 24 hours now for a miva/linux error message problem that knowledgeable people tell me is an error message for drive corruption or impending drive failure.

Anyone else having problems on the server “glass”?

I’ve gotten 5 E-mails of the same now. I had some problems connecting to my MYSQL database yesterday, but I’m on the machine galaga.

Here’s the response that I got from DH Support:


I apologize for the confusing announcements! We recently had a problem
with one of our filers and had to restore some data from a backup for our customers. Unfortunately, due to what seems to be a bug in our
announcement system the announcement went to some people (such as
yourself) who weren’t affected at all… and multiple times! We’re looking
into the bug now and it hopefully won’t happen again.

But yeah, you have nothing to worry about… no data of yours was lost or
restored or anything like that. Sorry for the needless confusion and
worry, and please have a good weekend!


That doesn’t explain at all why I can’t access my webmail at all, the whole thing seems down.

Me too. Thought someone hacked my domains because I’ve gotten 8 of them so far.
