All Sites Down After Moving To Dedicated Server. Please Help!

#1

I “upgraded” to a dedicated server and now all of my sites are down and I’m freaking out a bit. I host a lot of peoples sites and I was told the change to a dedicated server would be smooth with no downtime, yet here I am.

When running a test I’m getting this message:
“Your website does not appear in the Apache configuration file.”

Can anyone please advice me on what I should do? I’ve tried contacting Dreamhost, but I can’t sit around and wait for them to respond at their leisure.

Somebody, please help me!

It’s going to have to be checked by someone with root access to your server, so if you’re not up with this stuff, you’ll probably want to depend on someone from DreamHost helping you. Usually, they are pretty quick about dealing with an outage of this sort.

Yeah, I just heard back from DH and they are checking into it. They’ve temporarily restored my sites while they figure out the root cause of the issue.

I was definitely freaking out this morning when I first saw that everything was down. I’m hosting a ton of sites for a bunch of different people, so everything going down at the same time is an absolute nightmare.
