Hi, I’m running a site for muscians to host their songs/music for free and I’m trying to make it a little easier for files to be added to the site (rather than FTP). However it seems files larger than 8mb can’t be uploaded via http using any of the php scripts I’ve tried. Is there a workaround to this problem or is it some kind of hard limit?
This limit is caused by the configuration that DreamHost use for their PHP installation. This limit can not be raised as you do not have access to the php.ini file.
However, you can compile/install a custom PHP installation and modify its php.ini to raise the limit to whatever you want. Details are in the wiki article linked below.
