502 and 500 Error

#1

I have been getting 502 errors on again off again for the past year now, I’ve hit refresh and the page has loaded. Now, however, I got this cute error:

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@moongatestudios.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Then it goes to a 502 error when I try to reload. I’m running Wordpress and I’m trying to figure out what is wrong with my site. I’m wondering if it’s an old theme that I’m running or what. It seems to be limited only to this site (as I have a few subdomains which seem to run just fine)

Like it says, you can check the server error log to see what the issue is, although logs require a bit of translation sometimes.

If it’s just a WordPress site, make sure that your WordPress core, theme, and plugins are all up-to-date. Themes and plugins have a habit of not getting updated, so it may be time to switch themes or drop plugins if they haven’t been updated in the last year or so.

I would love to do that, but I can’t even get to the Wordpress dashboard right now.

You might want to open a ticket with support and ask specifically for a security scan on your account. It’s only a guess on my part right now, but I suspect you might have a hacked site.
