Hello I was told that someone might be able to help me i need to set up a new account herre at dreamhost and i would like to know where to find the best deal when it comes to promo codes?

If someone referred you to DH, you should use their promo code or ask them to make one if they don't have one already. Other than that, if you have asked questions before here or someone was particularly helpful to you, see if they have a promo code and use it. The maximum amount anyone here can discount is 97 dollars on one and two year plans.

The best deal is $97 off yearly plans and between $50 and $80 off monthly, depending on the length.
If you see anything more than $97, those users will send you the difference (usually via PayPal) usually after a year if you stay with DreamHost. After 1 year, they get another 10% of your full-priced fees and then pay you a small percentage of that. Since you really don't see that extra money for a long time, just pick a promo code you like.

Option one : 97 dollars (that with the usual promo code you will not see because you give the 97$ to the new user)
Option two: you get 10% of what the new user pays.

Are you serious? Have a look around these forums and you should find a promo-code or two (dozen).

The best *direct* discount is offered by DreamHost's own 9999 promo-code, which provides a $99.99 discount. It is supposed to be a special occasion anniversary code, but it is worth checking if it is still active.

There are some customer created promo-codes around, like Simon's promo-code, that offer slightly more than this, but they only offer a $97 direct discount (the max allowed), with the remainder being provided by the customer themselves via PayPal or similar.

as mark said, 97 is the max discount offered by DH.

However, some other people like to give more discount from their referral fees. The best promo code I've seen before is 102 dollars. You get 97 dollar when you sign up, you will receive 5 dollar from the promo code provider.

I did not use the promo code before, I'll SUGGEST you to contact the person to clarify first.
