Hello all!

I searched in the forum, but couldn't find the answer to this. Can I use my rewards money to give it to a charity?
(check the Give to charity tab in your DreamHost panel)
Those pending rewards are less than 97 days old, so they aren't in my Paypal yet...

I want to give all the money I earned from people that didn't used my $97 promo code, but the other one ($90 discount), plus some extra from my wallet.

I think it's a good way of saying thanks to those who tried to help me in the first place

Can I do this? And you? Have you given?

In Rewards, uncheck the box "Yes, I want excess rewards balances to be cashed out to me each month."

And when there is money in your account, choose "give to charity".

Or you can cash out to paypal, and then make a donation to any association.

What a brilliant (and generous) idea.

As I understand it, donations to charity are added to your hosting bill and are debited from your account balance when your hosting is up for renewal. Assuming your rewards payments will mature by the time your hosting is due for renewal, you should have no problems donating them, just untick the PayPal payout checkbox in the rewards section of the panel.

I must admit I haven't looked in the charity section of the panel in a long time. I did have a look when I first signed-up, but the charities featured at the time didn't really appeal to me.

I will make a point of checking the available charities from now on and donating whenever I see a worthy cause.

Thank you all for your great replies!

The problem is that the rewards are still pending, but I want to give it to "Santa's Helpers" before current charities change.

So I've decided to just donate now, and some months from now the rewards will pay it

My hosting is paid for one more year, so now, everytime anyone uses my smaller code, to help me pay for my hosting, that money will go to the charities DreamHost chooses.

I'm glad to see that other people often do this. I hope I can this regularly. Helping others, with the goodness of others, plus some help from me and DH.

Thank you ! I really want to add more features, because the site is too plain, but I've had a lot of work (around 15 hours a day, and my eyes aren't very good because of that).
